Sunderland 2003/4 2005-
Wearside Youth for Christ had recruited Paul Charles following his time in Wishaw & the Wirral. The north east of England has a great football heritage and Kick have been able to use this to build on the relationships with local churches and schools to communicate faith.
Darren
joined Kick, unsure of what he was going to do with the rest of his life
he decided to do a year out to think about it. When he heard about the Kick
team “it seemed too perfect because I love football and wanted to do
something for God.”
I learned a lot about myself and my faith, “I experienced God in a
different way, away from my comfort zone.”
I really enjoyed the mission in Chesham, “we just had an amazing time
in the schools, otherwise Seattle, it was an amazing opportunity to work
with so many youngsters in America playing football – good times!”
I am currently studying primary teaching in Dundee. I really felt this was
what God wanted me to do. Even though I’ve left Kick God is still a
big part of my life and is still guiding me in things.”
I would recommend Kick to anybody.
My favourite bible verse is Romans 8 v 28.
I reckon Spain will win the World Cup

Stevie
felt God was calling him to serve Him in YFC and to give his footballing
talents back to him and to worship him.
“I have grown in confidence from God and relying on Him has made me
stronger in my faith, because I know I have to trust in Him. I feel that
by relying on God He will show me where to go in the future. He has been
moving in conversations I have, its incredible how he helps me with what
to say.
I really enjoyed the mission in Worcester.
My favourite verse is Psalm 55 v 22
“Being a Christian doesn’t mean your gonna have a rollercoaster
ride but you have the peace in your heart and security knowing that there
is a God that loves me!”
I hope Brazil will win the World Cup, God is moving in their squad – many
of them are Christians and live for Him. My favourite player is Ronaldinho.
